BIO436: Introduction to Cell Mechanics and Mechanobiology

This module merges cell biology with mechanics. It describes the mechanical environment that cells are exposed to and how cells interact with this environment. Emphasis is placed on the effects of mechanical forces on cell function, specifically on how cells sense mechanical forces and respond to them. Mechanobiology is discussed in the context of basic cellular physiologic as well as pathologic processes.
