Lena Wiegmann receives PhD award
Lena Wiegmann, graduate of The Interface Group, receives the Silver ESAO-PhD Award 2018 for her achievements and her PhD thesis on
„ Computational and Experimental Investigations of Hemocompatibility in Ventricular Assist Devices”.
She was given the award during the opening ceremony of the XLV Annual Congress of the European Society for Artificial Organs in Madrid on September 12, 2018.

David Granjon wins poster award
David Granjon, post-doc at the Inteface Group, won the Best Poster Award at the 2018 annual NCCR Kidney.CH retreat for his contribution titled “A web-based application of calcium and phosphate homeostasis”. He therein described his work on the development of web-based physiological models as teaching tools, focusing on calcium-phosphate homeostasis as an example of a highly regulated physiological system that is challenging to teach.
