Short Biography

Ningning Peng graduated with a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Tsinghua University. She also had several years of experience as a fluid engineer in industry before joining the University of Hong Kong for her PhD study. Peng completed her PhD dissertation on ‘Numerical simulation of wave-breaking and wave-structure interactions based on OpenFoam’ in 2023, and then continued her work in HKU as a postdoc.
Peng joined the interface group as a postdoctoral researcher in August 2024. Her research will focus on applying fluid dynamics and machine learning methods to biomechanical problems, such as optimizing cannula design and minimizing blood damage during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.
